About the event

Dear Parade Participant:

Centerville City is planning an awe-inspiring 4th of July Parade, filled with fun, excitement, and the spirit of patriotism revolving around the theme, "Proud of Where We Come From.

The parade will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m., on Tuesday, July 4th. We look forward to seeing your entry designed around this official theme and thank you for supporting our parade.

TIMES

The check-in process will begin at 7:30 a.m. on July 4th. Please ensure you check in at your given time to allow for ease of staging for everyone. All entries should have completed check-in by 8:30 a.m. Floats and vehicles must be in their assigned staging locations by 8:30 a.m. for inspection. The parade will commence promptly at 9:00 a.m. It should take 1 to 1.5 hours to travel the route, arriving at the de-staging area between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. or being directed to the West Bountiful parade route if participating there.

CHECK-IN PROCEDURES AND ROUTE

Read through this section carefully to ensure you have an easy check-in process. The parade will be staged on Main Street between 1450 N and 1700 N. All entries should approach the staging area coming North on 400 W and then heading East on Jennings (1700 N) From here, entries will head North on Main Street to their appointed spot. (Please see attached map). This will be the only entrance to the staging area. Entry checks will take place with Parade Officials at your arrival.

Float participants may be dropped off in the Stake Center parking lot (1450 N) entering Sunset, East or West. Please plan to drop off in the East parking lot with drop of vehicles exiting right, heading W back down Sunset. Parade participants will be permitted to walk from the parking area to their float entry.

PARADE END

The parade route will run southbound on Main Street from 1450 N to Pages Lane. Those not participating in West Bountiful parade, will turn east at the light on Pages Lane and head to the de-staging area at the DI parking lot. Those who have agreed to participate in the West Bountiful parade will continue straight on Main to your next planned meet up spot. Officers will direct you depending. Buses, trailers, and trucks dropping off parade participants or equipment at the staging area should proceed to the de-staging area by 10:30 to park

LIABILITY RELEASE FORMS

A signed liability release form is required by UDOT and Centerville City, for EACH INDIVIDUAL marching or riding in the parade as part of your entry, regardless of age. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY IMPORTANT REQUIREMENT. Please ensure you bring these forms with you the morning of the parade. City officials stop by each entry for pick up.

EQUESTRIAN ENTRIES

Please be sure to provide enough people and "pooper scoopers" to follow behind your entry.

By doing so, you will be courteous to those individuals marching behind your entry. Many equestrian entries in the past have dressed up those individuals as clowns (or something similar) and have made them part of their entry.

NOTE

This is a 2-mile parade route. We'd love those receiving candy at the end of the route to have just as much success filling their little candy bag as those at the beginning. Be aware of how much candy you throw and aim to be equitable. Additionally, please plan to carry water on your float for your participants, ensuring they remain hydrated during the parade.

ENTRY AWARDS

Awards will be given out at the de-staging area.

  • Overall Best Float
  • Pearl Award Float (most spirit)
  • Most Creative
